  1. Prepare 1 cup chickpeas
  2. Make ready 1 green chilli
  3. Make ready 1/2 cup grated carrots
  4. Get 1/2 cup shredded cabbage
  5. Make ready 1/2 cup finely chopped capsicum
  6. Prepare 1 tsp cumin powder
  7. Get 1 tsp garam masala powder
  8. Take 1 tsp aamchur powder
  9. Take 1 tsp red chilli powder
  10. Make ready 4-5 tsp besan
  11. Take 3-4 tsp rice flour
  12. Make ready 1/2 mint leaves
  13. Take 1 inch ger
  14. Get to taste Salt
  15. Get As needed Oil for frying

Instructions to make Chickpeas Vada:

  1. Soak chickpeas overnight and pressure cook it for 8-9 whistle or until they are soft.
  2. Make a coarse paste of the boiled chickpeas with green chilli, ger and mint leaves, add 2-3 tsp of water if required. Do not add more water.
  3. Now in a mixing bowl, add the coarsely ground chickpeas, add the veggies like carrot, cabbage, capsicum (you can add any other veggies of your choice), add the cumin powder, garam masala powder, red chilli powder, aamchur powder salt to taste, add besan and rice flour and mix everything well. Adjust the quantity of besan and rice flour as per the binding. Now apply little oil in your palm, take small portion of the mixture and give them any shape of your desire.
  4. Now heat some oil in a pan and either shallow fry or deep fry them from both the sides and its done. Serve it hot with your favourite chutney or sauce.
