- beat egg whites till stiff
- combine sugar, water, vanilla, and egg yolk and beat till all sugar is disolved
- add 1 cp unsifted cake flour and beat well
- fold beaten egg whites into batter then pour into cookie sheet
- bake 18 minutes on high rack
- immediately lay cake on clean towel and pull off wax paper
- cover cake with jam
- roll cake with towel around it
- set for a few minutes
- remove towel and place on dish
- sprinkle with powdered sugar
