  6. Take 1/2 tsp dhania
  7. Make ready 1/2 tsp 1/2 jeera powder
  8. Get 1/2 tsp panch phutan
  9. Prepare Salt as per taste
  10. Make ready 1/3 tsp chilli powder
  11. Make ready 1/2 tsp haldi powder
  12. Get 1/2 tsp garam masala

Steps to make Kathal (Jackfruit) Masala:

  1. Cut the kathal into small pieces. In a microwave bowl take chopped kathal, haldi, a pinch salt and 1/3 tsp oil. Mix well and cook in microwave oven for 5 mins. Let it cool.
  2. Heat oil in a kadai. Add panch phutan to spluter.
  3. Fry onion till golden brown.
  4. Mix chopped tomatoes, ger-garlic paste, salt, haldi, chilli powder and 1 tbsp water.
  5. Cook in med heat till oil is separated from masala. Mix boiled kathal with masala.
  6. Add the rest dry masala powder and cook for 2 min.
  7. Mix a cup of water/more for gravy. Cook covered for 2 minutes.
