The ingredients needed to make Kathal pulao:

  1. Make ready 200 gm kathal or raw jackfruit
  2. Get 1 cup basmati chawal
  3. Make ready 1 cup dahi
  4. Prepare 2 tbsp ger garlic paste
  5. Get 1 cup sliced onions
  6. Prepare 2-3 cloves
  7. Get 1 cinnamon stick
  8. Get 5 black pepper
  9. Take 1 tbsp jeera
  10. Make ready 2 green chilli
  11. Take 2 tsp turmeric powder
  12. Take 2 tbsp kashmiri red chilli powder
  13. Prepare 1 tbsp cumin powder
  14. Get 1-2 tbsp coriander powder
  15. Get 2-3 tbsp Ghee
  16. Prepare 1-1.5 glass Water
  17. Take Salt as per taste

Instructions to make Kathal pulao:

  1. Soak basmati rice in water for 30-45min
  2. Heat ghee in a pressure Cooker. When oil gets heated add jeera, black pepper corns, cinnamon, cloves and green chilli then add onions. Fry until it become golden brown.
  3. Add ger garlic paste, salt and other dry spices. Add little bit of water too. Mix it well. Cook it for 2 min
  4. Then add well beaten curd and mix it well. When oil starts separating from the gravy add kathal pieces.
  5. Stir it for a 2 min. Flame should be in low medium.
  6. Cook it for like 10 min. Add little bit of water. Stir it for 2 min then add soaked rice. Mix it well and add water.
  7. Rice should be fully cover in water. Don’t add more than that. Cook for 1-2 whistle and it’s done.
